Later they began coating color negative emulsions and consumers and professionals flocked to take and make color pictures. By this time Photo Labs became specialized. You had wholesale labs, these labs serviced the consumers by picking up film from drug store, department store, grocery stores etc. Making the prints and returning the prints to the store in about a week. Commercial Labs printed for commercial Photography and businesses that need Billboards and Display Prints. Professional Labs (like us) dealt with the independent Professional Photographers who photographed weddings, children, landscapes, and family events. Now that digital has taken hold across all sectors of our industry it has become easy for everyone to put in a small lab, show someone what buttons to push, and out comes some pictures.
